Rachel Whitwell
The New Zealand Teachers Council (NZTC) has de-registered former Auckland teacher Rachel Whitwell after she posed nude in a pornographic magazine.
Ms. Whitwell appeared in the New Zealand and Australian editions of Penthouse "totally naked".
She denied practising as a teacher at the time of the photo shoot.
"I simply modelled for some photographs in my role as a model, not as a teacher. Even if I was teaching I do not believe that you or the NZTC has any right to impose Victorian moral opinions on my life outside the classroom," she said.
Ms Whitwell says she plans to appeal the NZTC's decision.
